The word ‘parable’ comes from the Greek word parabole which means ‘a placing beside’ so we could say a parable is a means of speaking into real life, getting alongside life, by means of an illustration or comparison.

The common thread through this chapter is something lost being found, a sheep, a coin a son! At the end of each section there is rejoicing! The ‘one’ is important!
